$37,000 distributed to students thanks to YOU

May 01, 2020

I’m pleased to share with donors an update about the impact of your support to The Resiliency Fund. As of today, we have raised over $20,000 through The Resiliency Fund through our generous MCLA community! Efforts have been supplemented by the MCLA Food Security Fund donations and other Foundation funds. To date, we have disbursed over $37,000 to more than 70 students in need of aid.

Here is an update on where the money has been distributed:

  • Over $8,000 has been disbursed for student food expenses
  • Over $18,000 has been given to students to help pay for utilities, rent, and emergency aid
  • And $11,000 worth of laptops have been distributed to students who did not have access to a personal computer.

Still, we have exhausted funds for food insecurity and are now seeing requests for help for summer scholarship.  We are committed to helping these students during this time of crisis. Could you help us expand our effort by sharing The Resiliency Fund on social media?

Again, THANK YOU! We could not do it without you. Sending you my best wishes during this trying time.

Sincerely,

$26,000 distributed to students thanks to YOU

April 16, 2020

Thanks to the generosity of the MCLA community, to date we have raised $14,785 through The Resiliency Fund! Your efforts have been supplemented by the MCLA Food Security Fund and other Foundation funds, so that we have been able to provide assistance to every student in need. Because of you, we have been able to disburse over $26,000 to more than 50 students in need of emergency aid. Here’s where the money has been spent:

  • Nearly $5,000 has been disbursed for student food expenses

  • Over $10,000 has been given to students to help pay for utilities, rent, and emergency aid

  • And $11,000 worth of laptops have been distributed to students who did not have access to a personal computer.

We expect that emergency student requests will continue to come in as the semester progresses, and our team is prepared to continue to review and provide expedited review of requests so that money can continue to go out to support any student in crisis. But we still need your help! Can you help us spread the word about The Resiliency Fund on social media so that we can continue to help MCLA students in need?

Once again, THANK YOU for your support of The Resiliency Fund. We could not do this without the support of our strong MCLA community. We hope you continue to stay safe and healthy during this trying time.

Sincerely,
